The primary goal of this workgroup is to inform and educate state lawmakers about the nursing shortage and the need to increase the level of public funding for nursing education in the state and region. The Government workgroup has been an integral player in securing priority funding for nursing education through the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Dramatic Growth Fund schools with enrollment increases above set thresholds.
